Vascular Access Registered Nurse
Provide specialized nursing care for diverse patient populations by assessing, inserting, and managing vascular access devices. Ensure safe, evidence-based practice while preventing infection and supporting optimal patient outcomes.
- Assess patients for vascular access needs and determine appropriate device placement
- Perform insertion, maintenance, and ongoing care of vascular access devices
- Follow evidence-based protocols and established standards of practice
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve outcomes
- Apply infection prevention practices throughout vascular access care
- Educate patients and families on device care, safety, and follow-up guidance
- Support a patient-centered approach that promotes respect, teamwork, and professional growth
Qualifications & Skills
- Current RN licensure
- Strong clinical judgment and knowledge of vascular access management
- Competence in infection prevention and protocol-driven care
- Effective communication and patient/family education skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary care environment
