Role: Surgical Technologist assisting surgeons during procedures across all ages, ensuring patient safety and care quality.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting in treatment coordination and providing basic patient support.
Connecting patients to clinical equipment and practicing aseptic techniques.
Participating in surgical prep, timeouts, and verifying surgical site and supplies.
Handling specimens, maintaining sterile fields, and disposing of sharps properly.
Assessing wounds, changing dressings, and adhering to universal precautions.
Initiating emergency procedures, participating in admissions/discharges, and performing billing.
Contributing to quality control, specimen collection, patient transport, and post-mortem care.
Serving as a preceptor for students and complying with policies and standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Graduate from a Specialty Training Program.
Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or exemption under applicable law.
Ability to perform in a clinical environment, with strong attention to safety, teamwork, and documentation.
Additional details:
Full-time role with rotating shifts, on-call duties, and working every other weekend and holidays.
Respond to on-call shifts within 30 minutes.
Performs various duties including specimen collection and patient transport.
