Role: Surgical Technologist (Part-Time)
Responsibilities include: Assisting surgeons during procedures, coordinating treatments, providing patient support, preparing sterile fields, verifying surgical sites and specimens, maintaining supplies, and participating in safety protocols and on-call rotations. Additional duties involve specimen collection, patient transport, dressing changes, and ensuring medication labeling under supervision.
Qualifications and Skills: Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligibility under Pennsylvania Act 80, graduate of a Specialty Training Program, adherence to aseptic techniques, and ability to follow policies and procedures. Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.
Key Duties: Support surgical team during interventions, ensure safety and accuracy, assist with wound care, participate in patient admission/discharge, and act as a preceptor for students. Maintain documentation, perform quality control, and respond to emergency procedures.
Work Environment: Clinical setting with a focus on patient safety and quality care. The role involves 12-hour shifts, weekend coverage, rotation to meet department needs, and on-call responsibilities.
