Surgical Technologist II

Role Overview: A Surgical Technologist assists in surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, sterilizing equipment, and supporting surgeons and nurses during operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize surgical supplies and equipment based on surgeon preferences.
  • Practice aseptic techniques, including scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and draping.
  • Assist in patient preparation, such as cleaning incision sites.
  • Pass instruments and sterile supplies during surgery; maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
  • Verify surgical sites and identify specimens for analysis.
  • Participate in surgical time-out protocols and OR briefings.
  • Report concerns impacting patient care and contribute to problem resolution.
  • Follow universal protocols and policies, ensuring medication labeling and safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills: Completion of a specialty training program is required. Candidates should adhere to protocols, demonstrate attention to detail, and work effectively in a clinical environment.
