Provide comprehensive surgical support by preparing the operating room and maintaining a sterile field for procedures. Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and ensure required instruments are available in coordination with the circulating nurse.
Key Duties
- Set up and prepare the operating room and sterile field for surgical cases.
- Assist the surgical team by anticipating instrument and equipment needs.
- Perform scrub duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Coordinate with the circulating nurse to support efficient intraoperative workflow.
- After procedures, clean the operating room and restock supplies as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to follow sterile technique and infection-control procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and readiness to support surgical teams.
- Effective teamwork and communication with the circulating nurse and surgical staff.
- Comfort working under the direction of a registered nurse.
