Job Summary
This role involves supporting a surgical or procedural team by performing specialized technical duties in the operating room environment. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the individual assists with equipment and instrumentation to ensure a safe and functional surgical setting.
Qualifications
- Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- Experience
- Preferred: One year of experience as a Surgical Tech
- Certification/Licensure
- Required:
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Center for Competency Testing or
- United States Military or United States Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification — must be obtained within ninety days of hire
