Job Summary
Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician, performs specialized technical duties in surgical or procedural environments.
Assists the surgical team by operating equipment and instrumentation to maintain a safe operating room environment, ensuring equipment is available and functioning properly.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program
Experience
- Required: Certification as a Surgical Technician by The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or the National Center for Competency Testing, or completion of a U.S. Military or Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program (only one required)
- Preferred: One year of experience as a Surgical Technician
Certifications/Licensure
- Surgical Technician Certification by the appropriate certifying body (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (must be obtained within 90 days of start date)
