Job Summary
Performs specialized technical duties in a surgical or procedural environment under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician. Assists the surgical team by managing equipment and instrumentation to ensure a safe operating room environment with properly functioning tools.
Qualifications
- Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- Experience
- Preferred: One year of experience as a Surgical Tech
- Certification/Licensure
- Must hold one of the following: Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, Surgical Technician Certification by the National Center for Competency Testing, or certification from the U.S. Military or U.S. Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, to be obtained within ninety days of hire
