Role Overview:
Perform specialized technical duties in surgical or procedural settings under supervision, ensuring a safe environment and proper functioning of equipment to assist the surgical team.
Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: High School Diploma required; completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in surgical technology; preferred experience as a surgical tech.
- Certifications & Licenses: Certification by a recognized surgical technology board or program; current BLS certification required. Other certifications from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or the National Center for Competency Testing are preferred. Also, military or public health service surgical technology training is advantageous.
- Skills: Ability to operate surgical equipment, strong attention to detail, ability to work in a team environment.
Additional Requirements:
– Must obtain at least one recognized surgical technician certification within ninety days of hire.
