Surgical Tech II

Job Summary

Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician, performs specialized technical duties in surgical or procedural settings. Assists the surgical team by managing equipment and instrumentation to ensure a safe operating environment, availability, and proper functioning of equipment.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program

Experience: Preferred: One year of experience as a Surgical Technician

Certification/Licensure: Required:

• Surgical Technician Certification by The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting*
• Surgical Technician Certification by the National Center for Competency Testing*
• United States Military or United States Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program* (*Only one of these certifications must be obtained)

Additional Certifications: Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within ninety (90) days of start date.
