Role Overview: The Surgical Technologist assists in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, handling instruments, and supporting surgeons and nurses. They ensure a sterile environment, monitor patient safety, and participate in post-operative recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment with necessary equipment and tools
- Assist during surgeries by passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting the surgical team
- Handle and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols
- Monitor patient positioning and safety pre- and post-surgery
- Document procedures, patient information, and surgical details accurately
- Support patient transfer and comfort during recovery
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program
- Certification options include national boards or military training pathways
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and team-oriented
