Role Overview:
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all store operations, including employee management, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service. They ensure proper staffing, train staff, conduct performance evaluations, and promote a safe, organized shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, select, train, and retain qualified employees in compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Manage store opening and closing, and ensure adequate staffing at all times.
- Analyze operating statements to identify business trends and opportunities for expense control and profit maximization.
- Oversee ordering, stocking, presentation, and inventory accuracy, including cycle counts and stock replenishment.
- Maintain merchandise presentation, pricing, signage, and overall store appearance.
- Control cash handling, security, and store safety protocols, ensuring financial integrity and compliance.
- Lead customer service initiatives and foster a positive shopping experience.
- Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and proper equipment maintenance.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to interpret documents, perform mathematical calculations, and utilize cash registers for reporting.
- Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and cash handling procedures.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and employee counseling, with legal compliance awareness.
- Preferred high school diploma or equivalent; management experience in retail is advantageous.
- Bilingual skills may be preferred at some locations.
Physical & Working Conditions:
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds; occasional ladder use; fast-paced environment with moderate noise; occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. Must have reliable transportation for store-related activities.
