Stepdown Overflow Registered Nurse provides evidence-based nursing care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from ICU or med-surg. You will assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive care, manage complex monitoring needs, and titrate medications as clinically indicated.
Key responsibilities include coordinating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, ensuring safe patient handoffs, and supporting patient throughput by flexing across stepdown and overflow beds. You will educate patients and families and maintain a high standard of quality, safety, and compassionate care.
Qualifications & Skills
- RN licensure with experience in stepdown/telemetry or acute care nursing
- Strong clinical assessment and care planning abilities
- Competence with complex monitoring and medication titration
- Ability to coordinate effectively with providers and interdisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, patient/family education, and safe handoff skills
- Ability to flex across units while maintaining consistent standards of care
