Staff Radiation Therapist

Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiation equipment safely and precisely, adhering to quality control standards.
  • Assess and care for patients across all age groups, documenting in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Perform patient set-ups, simulations, and coordinate treatment schedules, ensuring safety protocols.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and use of treatment aids.
  • Report adverse reactions immediately and follow policies for documentation.
  • Participate in safety procedures, warm-up routines, and maintain radiation safety badges.
  • Assist in training students, support team tasks, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • ARRT Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification required upon hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
  • Skills in patient simulation, treatment, and safety practices.

Skills & Attributes: Ability to operate radiation equipment, assess patients, follow safety protocols, document accurately, and collaborate within a healthcare team.
