Staff Physician

The staff physician role aims to develop a comprehensive, community-based, family-centered primary care program focused on improving access, health outcomes, prevention, health education, and evidence-based chronic disease management.

  • Develop individualized care plans, conduct exams, diagnose, treat, and refer patients as needed, emphasizing preventive medicine and resource utilization.
  • Provide non-discriminatory care across all ages and backgrounds, including immunizations and communication with patients, families, and other providers.
  • Participate in practice development, quality assurance, peer reviews, and collaborative efforts to enhance clinical operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, manage a full patient panel (minimum 1,500 active patients), and meet productivity standards.
  • Deliver coordinated care across various settings, including outpatient, community, and hospital services, adhering to standards and protocols.
  • Support community health initiatives, cooperate with legal and administrative requirements, and contribute to strategic planning.
  • The position reports to the Director of Family Medicine, with oversight from the CMO, and involves supervising day-to-day activities of support staff and mentoring mid-level providers and students.

    Requirements include a medical degree from an accredited school, active South Carolina medical license, board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, effective communication skills, proficiency with medical and computer tools, and physical ability to perform clinical duties. The work environment involves moderate noise, exposure to bloodborne pathogens, and minimal travel. The role emphasizes professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical standards.
