Special Procedures RN (Per Diem)

Role Overview: The Special Procedure Nurse provides direct patient care and practice management support in a procedural unit, working under the supervision of department leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with pre- and post-procedure assessments, monitoring, and intra-procedural care for specialties such as GYN Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oncology, and GI procedures.
  • Support procedural flow by organizing resources and ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Perform nursing procedures including IV placement, medication administration, wound care, and EKGs.
  • Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure confidentiality.
  • Monitor patient conditions, communicate data to the care team, and administer medications as ordered.
  • Maintain safety standards, participate in staff education and quality initiatives, and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Assist with oncology care coordination and community resources.

  • Qualifications & Skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, RN license in MA, and BLS certification.
  • 3+ years of relevant medical/surgical or ambulatory nursing experience; ACLS may be required.
  • Preferred: BSN degree and EPIC EMR experience.
