Responsibilities include:
- Applying advanced social work knowledge and skills, including psychosocial assessments and response to abuse, neglect, or violence in accordance with ethical standards and legal requirements.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop effective treatment plans and support emotional, mental, and social needs of patients and their families.
- Providing specialized counseling, addressing social, emotional, and economic concerns, and working across diverse age groups including neonatal to geriatric populations.
- Utilizing age-appropriate care protocols and understanding the impact of illness on patients and families.
- Possibly diagnosing patients, if licensed, and offering brief therapy to manage psychosocial and economic challenges.
Qualifications include:
- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
- Licensed in good standing as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the practicing state.
- Healthcare or mental health hospital experience preferred.
