Role Overview: The Safety Specialist applies scientific and practical knowledge to innovate, design, and improve safety systems, processes, equipment, and tools. They ensure safety characteristics align with daily operations, new models, and business goals to achieve safety excellence and promote a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safety improvement projects and support plant safety initiatives.
- Implement PDCA cycles to reduce injuries and hazards, fostering continuous safety improvements.
- Support department leaders, safety committees, and advocates to develop a strong safety culture.
- Interpret and apply safety policies, perform risk assessments, ergonomic studies, and document safety activities.
- Present safety data analysis, trending, and reporting to stakeholders.
- Develop technical expertise and professional skills in safety management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 0-4 years of safety experience.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, injury prevention, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to interpret policies and conduct complex safety assessments.
