Role Overview: This position focuses on managing patient flow and inpatient capacity by coordinating transfers, placements, and resource utilization to ensure efficient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with physicians and nursing staff to facilitate smooth patient transfers and appropriate placements.
- Supervise personnel within Patient Placement, support staff orientation, and promote morale.
- Communicate operational updates, monitor occupancy trends, and plan for elective admissions.
- Ensure compliance with policies, laws, and regulations while managing patient flow activities.
- Participate in policy development, handle escalation triggers, and support disaster and emergency protocols.
- Serve as an administrative representative and liaise with management on capacity issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
- RN license in the state of PA.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in patient placement or related capacity management roles.
- Strong leadership, communication, resource planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork, professional development, and effective collaboration across departments.
Work Environment & Education: Mostly clinical setting requiring a nursing degree from a specialty training program. The role emphasizes professional growth, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration to provide high-quality patient care.
