Job Summary:
Creates a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment by supervising nursing and ancillary staff, ensuring high-quality care, and fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals. Leads daily unit activities, coordinates patient care, and promotes staff development and satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Builds and maintains a high-performing clinical team through recruitment, coaching, and evaluation.
- Sets goals for patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance; develops strategies to enhance satisfaction.
- Conducts daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care and resolve operational issues.
- Manages personnel requirements, schedules staff, and ensures adequate coverage while minimizing short staffing.
- Facilitates patient throughput, discharge planning, and maintains facility safety standards.
- Assesses and addresses educational needs, monitors clinical outcomes, and promotes a culture of open communication.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing required; Master’s preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
- Minimum of five years’ clinical experience; leadership experience and acute care experience preferred.
- Certifications including BLS and NRP or ARC-NALS required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
