The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process, technology, and resources to meet patient needs within the institution’s philosophy.
Responsibilities include performing unit-specific duties, implementing care procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, conducting initial patient assessments, developing and modifying care plans, and ensuring safety for patients and staff. The nurse communicates effectively with patients and families through hourly rounding and bedside reports, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and offers feedback for peer development. The role involves identifying personal learning needs and fulfilling departmental competencies to ensure high-quality care.
Qualifications include current RN licensure, certification in BLS and ACLS (within specified timeframes), and relevant education. Skills required are excellent communication, teamwork, safety awareness, and adaptability to clinical settings such as ICU and advanced care units.
