Role Overview: The RN Clinical Nurse in Acute Care Orthopedic Surgery is a proactive team member responsible for delivering individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care in a clinical environment supported by evidence-based practices and shared governance. They uphold the standards set by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association, advocating for patient voices and system policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and evidence-based standards.
- Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to diverse populations, emphasizing cultural competence.
- Partner with patients and families through effective communication and education, ensuring patient goals guide care plans.
- Coordinate safe, quality care via interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and fostering an inclusive clinical environment.
- Participate in performance improvement, research activities, and shared governance to enhance patient outcomes.
- Support professional development by completing competency assessments, mentoring, and serving as preceptor.
- Promote evidence-based practice, adhere to organizational policies, and participate in data collection and protocol development.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Current RN license (single state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to operate technology effectively and respond calmly to emergencies in a fast-paced environment.
