Role Summary: This position involves assessing patients’ respiratory needs, planning and performing treatments, and ensuring optimal patient and family experience. Responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, establishing care plans, managing therapeutic modalities, and operating ventilators and monitoring equipment. The role requires collaboration with the medical team, providing patient education, assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy and invasive line placement, and ensuring safety standards compliance.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate from a specialty training program in respiratory therapy, with certifications including ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS. Ability to perform routine and advanced respiratory care, communicate effectively with team members and patients, and function as a charge person or preceptor. Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices, equipment management, and emergency response is essential.
Key Duties:
- Perform patient assessments and develop care plans.
- Manage therapeutic modalities and ventilator support.
- Provide patient and family education on disease management.
- Assist with intra-hospital transport and emergency airway management.
- Collect arterial blood gases and operate monitoring devices.
- Support procedures like bronchoscopy and invasive line placement.
- Adhere to safety, regulatory, and institutional standards.
- Serve as a shift coordinator and mentor clinical students.
