Role Overview: This position is for a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist responsible for assessing patient respiratory needs, developing and implementing care plans, and performing therapeutic modalities such as aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and airway management. The therapist manages mechanical ventilators, provides patient and family education, assists with procedures like bronchoscopy and invasive monitoring, and ensures safety and compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate patient respiratory needs based on data analysis.
- Perform and document patient assessments and establish care plans.
- Administer treatments including aerosolized medications, oxygen, and secretion management techniques.
- Manage mechanical ventilators and assist with airway management in emergent situations.
- Provide education on disease management to patients and families.
- Support intra-hospital transport of ventilated patients and assist with procedures like bronchoscopy.
- Adhere to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional protocols.
- Collect arterial blood gases and maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate from a specialized training program in Respiratory Therapy, with proficiency in managing advanced respiratory equipment, patient assessment, and intra-hospital transport. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team are essential.
