Role: Respiratory Therapist Float responsible for providing comprehensive patient respiratory care across multiple hospital locations.
Key Duties: Perform thorough patient assessments, develop care plans, administer therapies (aerosolized medications, oxygen, artificial airway care), and manage mechanical ventilators. Provide patient and family education, assist with intra-hospital transport, manage airway emergencies, and support diagnostic procedures like bronchoscopy. Maintain monitoring equipment, collect blood gases, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Serve as Shift Coordinator when designated, and mentor students and new staff.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate from Specialty Training Program, minimum of 2 years related experience, ability to float between facilities, and flexibility for 12-hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays. Strong communication, clinical judgment, and adherence to safety standards are essential.
Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality respiratory care, collaborate with healthcare team members, document thoroughly, and contribute to discharge planning and patient education. Support intra-hospital transport and participate in fiberoptic procedures and invasive monitoring.
