Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops care plans, and communicates with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities: Administers therapeutic modalities such as aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and artificial airway care; manages mechanical ventilators; provides patient and family education; assists with intra-hospital transport and invasive procedures; monitors via non-invasive tools; and supports discharge planning.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a graduate from a specialty training program, with at least 2 years of related experience. Flexibility to float between multiple hospital locations and work various shifts, including day and night.
Additional Duties: Collects arterial blood gases, maintains patient confidentiality, functions as a shift coordinator when designated, assists with bronchoscopy and invasive monitoring, and serves as a preceptor for students and new staff.
