Respiratory Therapist PRN – Nights

Role: Respiratory Therapist II responsible for delivering advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment, primarily in critical care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient assessments, collaborate with the healthcare team, and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, perform weaning, and interpret waveforms.
  • Conduct airway management procedures including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care.
  • Carry out arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, and provide patient and family education.
  • Mentor and precept new staff, students, and peers.
  • Ensure quality and safety standards, promote evidence-based practices, and support performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures, including pulmonary diagnostics and cardiac services.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate from an accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 20 quarter hours of science; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Certifications: NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (all required upon hire).
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience, with a minimum of 6 months in critical care.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills; ability to establish collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals.
