Role Overview: Provides respiratory therapy in critical care and all ICU settings, working independently to treat patients per physician orders and departmental policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general and critical care respiratory procedures following protocols and guidelines.
- Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation and airway equipment.
- Obtain and analyze blood gas samples; document procedures and educate patients and families.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, providing accurate reports and treatment recommendations.
- Maintain infection control standards and clean/disinfect equipment appropriately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited program or equivalent experience/diploma.
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Certifications in BLS, NRP, PALS, ACLS, NPS, with ongoing maintenance as required.
- Ability to treat patients across all age groups, including neonates to geriatrics.
Additional Notes: This role reports to a supervisor and does not involve management duties. It requires strong communication, adherence to safety protocols, and clinical competence in diverse patient populations.
