Respiratory Therapist – Lead

Role Overview: Responsible for leading daily shift activities in a healthcare setting, ensuring safe and effective patient care through independent judgment. Provides direct patient care, medication administration, and supports staff, physicians, patients, and families. Acts as a clinical resource, facilitates onboarding, and promotes quality improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead shift operations by assigning patient care based on needs and staff competencies.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary communication and ensure timely care delivery.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide clinical support and training.
  • Monitor equipment, manage staffing levels, and oversee resource utilization.
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety, and customer service initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge and promote professional development.
  • Conduct patient rounds to assess care quality and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
  • Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in critical care areas.
  • Additional certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Provider are preferred.
