Respiratory Therapist II – Night Shift (Non-NICU)

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, primarily in critical care settings, focusing on medication administration, ventilator management, and patient assessment. They deliver patient-centered care, educate patients and staff, and participate in procedures such as airway management and pulmonary diagnostics. The role emphasizes independent decision-making, protocol adherence, and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care, including assessments and therapy planning
  • Manage ventilators, perform weaning, interpret waveforms, and handle airway procedures
  • Administer medications, perform blood gas analysis, and assist in invasive/non-invasive procedures
  • Educate patients, families, and colleagues; mentor new staff and students
  • Ensure safety through accurate documentation, compliance with policies, and promotion of evidence-based practices
  • Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program; Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s preferred
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience, with a minimum of 6 months in critical care
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems and databases
  • Licenses & Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, ACLS
