Role: Respiratory Therapist II responsible for administering medications, managing respiratory care, and providing patient-centered services in complex critical care settings.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing patient assessments, verifying orders, and delivering aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and medical gases.
- Managing ventilators, including weaning and waveform interpretation, as well as airway management such as intubation and tracheostomy care.
- Conducting arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
- Educating patients, families, and support systems; mentoring new staff and students; participating in procedures and diagnostic testing.
- Collaborating with healthcare team members for care planning and ensuring high-quality, safe, and evidence-based patient care.
- Promoting accurate documentation, medication safety, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.
- Supporting a positive team environment and fostering professional development.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy; relevant certifications including NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Practitioner, BLS, and ACLS are required.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills, with the ability to establish effective relationships with healthcare professionals.
