Respiratory Therapist – Full Time (Night Shift)

Role: Respiratory Therapist responsible for administering and managing respiratory care in accordance with physician orders and clinical standards. Acts as a workgroup leader and unit coordinator, developing and evaluating care plans using evidence-based protocols. Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and clinicians during patient rounds, and demonstrates proficiency in invasive and non-invasive procedures, equipment, and respiratory medications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, modify, and evaluate respiratory care plans in an acute setting.
  • Serve as a respiratory consultant across hospital service lines.
  • Participate in rapid response and resuscitation teams, establish artificial airways during emergencies.
  • Assist with patient discharge, provide education to patients and families, and support clinical training for new staff and students.
  • Maintain certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT, and stay current with industry guidelines.
  • Contribute to quality improvement projects and participate in clinical research activities.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, proper equipment maintenance, and adherence to infection control policies.
  • Assist in patient transports and coordinate care handoffs effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Professional in Georgia.
  • Minimum of 2 years in critical care preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC-RRT, RCP.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and adapt quickly in emergency situations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and surgical procedures, with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
