Respiratory Therapist – Full Time Night Shift

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in complex clinical situations, primarily in critical care areas. They deliver ventilator management, airway procedures, arterial blood gas analysis, and collaborate with healthcare teams to plan and execute patient care. The therapist educates patients, families, and staff, participates in staff development, and promotes a safe, quality environment aligned with evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient assessments, therapy planning, and documentation
  • Administer aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and medical gases
  • Manage ventilator settings, weaning, and airway procedures
  • Educate patients and mentor new staff and students
  • Ensure safety and quality through accurate documentation and adherence to protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance with policies

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred)
  • Certifications: NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Practitioner, BLS, ACLS (required upon hire)
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills
