Role Overview:
This position involves delivering assessment, therapeutic intervention, and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. Responsibilities include evaluating individuals to prevent, detect, monitor, and manage diseases, providing therapeutic treatments, and educating patients on preventive care and self-management to improve health outcomes. The role requires performing regular patient assessments, analyzing equipment use, and offering treatment recommendations. The practitioner collaborates with a healthcare team to manage patient care across various settings, including home, hospital, and clinics. Knowledge of respiratory procedures, equipment, and computer documentation is essential. The position may involve on-call duties and requires completing departmental orientations and validations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate degree in respiratory care or nursing from an accredited program
- Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RT) or Registered Nurse (RN) in applicable states
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- For RTs, RRT or CRT credentials from NBRC; for RNs, state licensure
- Active driver’s license
