Role Overview: Serves as a clinical and operational leader, providing expert respiratory care, mentoring staff, and managing shift workflows. Acts as a super user for advanced technology and contributes to Performance Improvement processes.
- Key Responsibilities: Performs duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist, manages staffing using EMR reports, ensures patient safety through proper handoffs and incident reporting, and assists with staff orientation and technical competency.
- Qualifications: Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, three years of RT experience, one year in critical care, and valid licensure and certifications (RRT, BLS, etc.). Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of respiratory therapy practices, regulatory standards, patient assessment, and critical care proficiency. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Additional Details: This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor, with work primarily during daytime hours, based at a hospital facility. Certifications such as NRP, PALS, ACLS, and specialty credentials are preferred or required.
