Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, and patient assessment in critical care settings. They deliver patient education, coordinate with healthcare teams, and support staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer aerosolized medications, perform airway management, and interpret waveforms
- Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis
- Assist in invasive/non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostic testing
- Promote safe, quality patient care through accurate documentation and adherence to protocols
- Educate patients, mentor new staff, and participate in performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with policies and support a positive, team-oriented environment
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Valid certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or RCP
- 0-2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills
- Ability to establish effective relationships with healthcare professionals and patients
