Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist III provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments, primarily in critical care settings. This role involves independent decision-making, ventilator management, airway procedures, and arterial blood gas analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care through assessments, therapy planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, and perform airway procedures such as intubation and tracheostomy care.
- Educate patients, families, staff, and students; serve as a preceptor for new employees and students.
- Promote safety and quality practices, including accurate documentation, compliance with policies, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.
- Engage in evidence-based practices and professional development activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT required upon hire.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in critical care areas.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, assessment, and computer skills.
