Registered Respiratory Therapist II NP – NICU

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments in critical care settings. They independently manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, analyze blood gases, and educate patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care through assessments, therapy planning, and collaboration with healthcare team members.
  • Administer aerosolized medications, perform ventilator management, airway management, and pulmonary diagnostics.
  • Ensure patient safety, accurate documentation, and promote evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in staff development, patient education, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support invasive and non-invasive procedures and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with science coursework.
  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • 0-2 years of clinical and critical care experience.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with healthcare databases.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (all instructor or provisional statuses as specified).
