Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment, primarily in critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered respiratory treatments, including ventilator management, airway care, and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients, families, and support systems on treatment and condition management.
- Mentor and precept new employees and students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and documentation standards.
- Assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
- Licenses and certifications: NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, and ACLS.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, with a minimum of 6 months in critical care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills, along with the ability to build professional relationships.
