Role Overview:
Provides direct respiratory care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and implementation, ensuring patient safety and compliance with standards. Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise, serving as a resource within the healthcare team. Delivers age-appropriate care while supporting quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicates effectively through documentation and teamwork.
- Educates patients, families, students, and staff on respiratory treatments and procedures, utilizing diverse learning styles.
- Seeks continuous learning opportunities, manages multiple duties, and prioritizes tasks efficiently.
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures per established guidelines, troubleshooting as needed.
- Supports advanced skills such as ECMO, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopies, sleep studies, and cardiopulmonary rehab.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) and Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Experience not required; strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills are essential.
