Position: Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit
Location: Chicago, IL
Hours: Night shifts; every other weekend and rotating holidays; may float to other inpatient units as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process.
- Maintain competency aligned with current standards and contribute to team development.
- Incorporate ethical practices and evidence-based research into patient care.
- Recognize and adapt to varied clinical situations, promote safety, and supervise staff.
- Ensure thorough and timely documentation, maintain a safe environment, and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient and unit needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least one year of nursing experience preferred, especially in cardiac telemetry or critical care.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with mastery of nursing skills.
- Current Illinois Nursing license, CPR, ACLS (required within 3 months), NIHSS (within 1 month), and PALS/NRP (if applicable).
- Effective communicator with supervisory abilities.
