Position Overview: This per diem Registered Nurse (RN) role in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) involves providing direct patient care across all age groups following surgical, pain management, and endoscopic procedures. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, monitors physiological status, manages pain, and communicates with surgical and anesthesia teams. Responsibilities include performing head-to-toe assessments, formulating individualized care plans, educating patients and families, and maintaining regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Current Nevada nursing license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Preferably one year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care PACU
- Handle with Care certification or within six months of employment
- Ability to perform assessments, pain management, and patient education
Key Duties: Demonstrate supportive bedside reporting, conduct comprehensive pre- and post-procedure assessments, develop effective care plans, reassess pain levels, and educate patients and families on pain management. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to policies, and participation in performance improvement activities.
