PACU Registered Nurse
Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care for surgical patients by monitoring vital signs, managing airways, administering prescribed medications, and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
Key Duties
- Monitor and assess patients in the PACU, ensuring safe recovery
- Manage airways and support patient stability as needed
- Administer medications and perform post-anesthesia interventions per protocol
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgeons to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families on recovery and care instructions
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR
Qualifications & Skills
- Current RN licensure with PACU or post-anesthesia nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and rapid response skills
- Proficiency with airway management and medication administration
- Effective teamwork and communication with clinical providers and families
- Comfortable using electronic health records for accurate documentation
