Position Overview:
- Responsible for coordinating staffing and providing leadership in an oncology unit caring for cancer patients and medical-surgical cases.
- Assigns, directs, educates, and monitors nursing/support staff during shifts, and contributes to staff evaluations.
- Assesses patient care needs, develops care assignments, and ensures appropriate patient care delivery.
- Evaluates patient outcomes, addresses care issues, and responds to complaints following established protocols.
- May participate in hiring, training, and staff development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN licensure by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire; ACLS/PALS may be required within 6 months depending on unit.
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Additional Details:
- Full-time night shifts (3-12 hour shifts, 7pm-7am).
- Work location is UAB St. Vincent’s East.
