Role Overview: This position involves providing independent nursing care in a Medsurg or Telemetry setting, utilizing critical thinking to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on established protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver routine and complex patient care aligned with treatment plans, addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor effects, and document patient history, symptoms, and care provided.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health needs and resources.
- Utilize the nursing process to develop and modify individualized care plans; communicate findings with healthcare team.
- Manage patient throughput, discharge planning, and unit operations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, promote safe practices, and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate health information documentation, operate medical equipment, and process medical orders effectively.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; minimum 2 years of Medsurg and Telemetry experience; 5 years preferred.
- Active RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications required.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to adapt to multiple units and demonstrate flexibility and proactive availability.
