Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Unit

Role Overview: The Inpatient Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care, including assessments, treatments, medication administration, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring safety and quality. They develop and coordinate individualized care plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs. The nurse evaluates intervention effectiveness, troubleshoots equipment issues, and actively contributes to evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities: Complete assessments per scope of practice and standards, formulate and implement care plans, participate in discharge planning, and promote patient safety. Engage in team decision-making, participate in safety and quality education, and support a compassionate, patient-centered environment. Maintain compliance with policies, troubleshoot equipment, and contribute to unit and organizational goals.

Qualifications & Skills: Graduation from a nursing specialty training program is required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and clinical judgment skills are essential. Experience in acute care settings is advantageous.

Key Duties: Deliver direct patient care, collaborate with healthcare team members, evaluate patient responses, and participate in organizational safety and quality initiatives.
