Role: Provides leadership in delivering professional nursing care to orthopedic patients, ensuring patient comfort and well-being. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, delegate tasks, and educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient conditions during admission and shifts, promptly identifying changes.
- Perform procedures, monitor responses, and document care accurately.
- Administer prescribed medications and respond to therapeutic or adverse effects.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve issues.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN program with a 5-year completion goal.
- Current RN licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing and BLS certification.
- Minimum of one year hospital nursing experience.
- Preferred: Master’s in Nursing and national certification in area of specialty.
Skills: Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, patient education, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
