Role Overview: Supports organizational goals by providing safe, high-quality patient care, focusing on infection prevention, patient satisfaction, and compliance with accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and participates in infection control activities across departments, developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conducts rounds, identifies infection risks, and recommends improvements to practices and education.
- Assists with surveillance activities, including tracking hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) and evaluating infection control impacts.
- Collaborates with community health agencies and supports infection prevention initiatives system-wide.
- Maintains compliance with Joint Commission, Department of Health, CDC, and NHSN reporting requirements.
- Performs medical record reviews, reviews progress notes, lab data, and imaging reports for HAI identification.
- Participates in continuing education, professional associations, and health-related initiatives to stay current in the field.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of hospital experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Experience with infection prevention, surveys, and epidemiology preferred.
- Strong knowledge of infection control principles, survey processes, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
