This position provides clinical nursing support by communicating with patients and businesses, scheduling tests and consultations, obtaining specimens, assessing patients, performing office procedures, and maintaining clinical supplies.
Requires a nursing diploma or degree from an accredited institution. Must be licensed by the State of Tennessee. At least one year of experience in a medical office setting. Proficient with Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer, autoclave, stethoscope, audioscope, phones, and oral/injectable medications. Work environment is office-based. Ability to sit, stand, communicate effectively in English (both orally and in writing), and lift over 20 pounds. Accurately records patient histories and vital signs. Administers immunizations and injections as needed. Provides patient counseling on health issues. Maintains clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals. Coordinates referrals and secures consultations with specialists. Triages phone calls and manages patient portal messages. Obtains prior authorizations for medications and tests. Ensures quality assurance for office lab. Assists physicians with office and surgical procedures. Follows universal precautions and proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries. Coordinates with pharmacies to ensure patients have necessary medications.
