Role Overview:
The nurse practices independently within a clinical setting, providing both routine and complex care while demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations. They develop long-term care plans, manage contingencies, and delegate tasks to other care providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care based on the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address patients’ psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs in accordance with their practice level.
- Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitor for side effects, and evaluate effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and available resources.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
- Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.
- BLS certification required.
